New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu received brutal backlash and was forced to have heavy police presence in place when the nighttime removals began. Despite threats that people would boycott New Orleans, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu did not back down. These statues are not just stone and metal, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said in a highly lauded speech after the last Confederate statue had been taken down. They are not just innocent remembrances of a benign history. These monuments purposefully celebrate a fictional, sanitized Confederacy ; ignoring the death, ignoring the enslavement and the terror that it actually stood for. But to others, like Kenneth Nail Nail, it’s not about oppression. To us, it’s not a hate thing. It’s a heritage thing and what we like to do is celebrate everyone's struggles : the blacks, the whites, the north and south.

I can see this popping up more and more, it would be reasonable to see similar suits popping up with the events in Charlottesville. Left-wing protesters clash with conservatives over the scheduled appearance of Milo Yiannopoulos. ( The Associated Press) Last August, a rally in opposition to the removal of a statute of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee on the campus of the University of Virginia turned violent as white supremacists and neo-Nazis clashed with counterprotestors. Heather Heyer, 32, was killed when James Alex Fields Jr. drove a 2010 Dodge Challenger into a crowd on a pedestrian mall. Roy Gutterman predicted the success of any future lawsuit depends on the motives of the plaintiffs, and how the court rules.

A Fox News reporter asked Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook on Thursday to clarify Carter's remarks that combat is over and the counterterror mission remains. I think we've talked about it a lot, fox News’s clear when we're talking about the counterterror mission – the target is remnants of Al Qaeda. Yet these restrictions may also be a misrepresentation of the reality on the ground in Afghanistan. For example, the actions of U.S. Special Operations forces on the ground in Kunduz show U.S. troops are doing more than training Afghan forces or targeting Al Qaeda. A U.S. Special Forces team called in the airstrike on Oct. 3 that hit a Kunduz hospital run by Doctors Without Borders. The hospital had been suspected of having a Taliban presence ; the head of U.S. forces in Afghanistan Gen. John Campbell told reporters it was the Afghans who requested the airstrike. The U.S. has since called the strike a mistake. Separately, a press release from U.S. Forces-Afghanistan revealed that beginning Oct. 7, the U.S. military.

But what Donald Trump is saying is that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had the intel that President Obama needed to make decisions, particularly arming the rebels in Syria, which turned out to be ISIS, and as Gen. Flynn reports, President Obama ignored that willingly and created ISIS. Trump Donald Trump doubled down initially and said Donald Trump meant exactly what Donald Trump said. But on Friday, Donald Trump made clear that Donald Trump and Pierson were on the same page. When I said that President Obama -- and of course I ’m being sarcastic.
